Hi! I'm Amy Smith and I'm so excited to start my eighth year teaching, fourth right here at Klein Collins High School! Not only am I the fashion design teacher, I also serve as the Head Cheer Coach of the Klein Collins Cheerleading program.
I am a transfer from Kleb Intermediate where I was the PHS teacher and the head cheer coach for 4 years. Teaching is a second career for me after many years in the home-building business and hotel industry. I have loved every minute I've been in Klein ISD and am very thankful for the opportunities I have been given. See the Teacher Feature that Klein ISD wrote about me!
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. My husband Randall and I have been married 18 years and together we have three children, Alex (25), Kali (23), and Gaven (22) and we live in Magnolia, Texas. My oldest son played baseball at Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas but has since moved back and now works in law enforcement as a Deputy Sheriff. My daughter graduated from Mays Business School at Texas A&M where she majored in Management. She is an Alpha Delta Pi (ADPi) alumna and moved to Maryland in August to work for the US Government. My youngest son is a junior in college and majoring in nursing. He's currently at Lone Star College but will transfer to SHSU this Spring. My Mom lives with us and is currently battling Alzheimers. She's an amazing breath of fresh air and we are blessed to be able to care for her during this time.
I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business and a minor in Management from Sam Houston State University. I'm certified to teach Family and Consumer Science, Business and Finance, Technology Applications, and Math 4-8.
My students will enjoy a year full of hands-on activities exploring the fashion world and the history of fashion. My class will require a great deal of organization, planning, and responsibility to handle the course load.
Please feel free to reach out to me if you need anything- my information can be found on the "Contact Me" page.
