India is a land of diversity. It is the seventh-largest country and the most populous democracy in the world. It is well known for its ancient history, varied landscapes and vibrant cultures. India is also tagged as the mother of many inventions. Indian culture highly values ethics, morality, spirituality, and unity. Indians believe in having a strong connection with their community.
Indians are below the age of 35. Average age of an Indian is 29 years.
Indians are not educated up to the primary school level (grade 5, age 14).
Students in grade 3 meet the basic literacy and numeracy proficiency.

How does this show up in schools?
The learning outcomes are consistently dismal. The culture and the learning environment are not conducive to learning. Most caregivers have not completed formal schooling and earn a low income. They are not well equipped to support all of their children's needs. Collaboration among the stakeholders is limited. Teachers have large class sizes to manage. They are involved in multiple administrative tasks, limiting their ability to perform their roles effectively. There is a lack of contextual and relevant in-service support for the teachers and the school leadership.
