Update your UV and Heart rate sensors for more accurate readings.
Can other teachers from my school set up an account using my school code?
Yes they can. They can set up their own classes as well for their students to join.
Note that the 'Discover' tab in the online platform will show inquiries from everyone in the school.
How can my students join my class?
Login to your teacher account and go to 'My Classes'
You will see a list of classes. Copy the class code displayed to the right of your class name. If you don't have a class set up yet, you can create one by clicking the 'Create Class' button
Share the class code with your students.
Have students go to learn.kiwrious.com and click the 'Sign Up' button on the bottom right
Ask them to select 'I am a student' and enter the class code.
Can one student join different classes?
One student account can only belong to one class. If necessary, they can join another class by setting up a new account (with a new username).
Can I add other teachers to my class?
A class can only have one teacher at the moment. We hope to be able to support multiple teachers in the future.
If you need this feature please send in feedback to let us know.
How do I delete or rename my classes?
Sorry, there is no way to delete or rename classes at the moment but we are working to fix this as soon as possible.
What devices do students need to use Kiwrious?
Students can use any laptop or desktop with the Google Chrome browser installed (version 78 or later). Students using computers that only have USB-C ports will need a USB to USB-C adapter in addition to the USB cable supplied with the kits.
Usage with iPads is not currently supported.
Does the UV sensor measure UVA and UVB?
The Kiwrious UV sensor does not display UVA and UVB readings separately, but it takes them both into account when calculating the UV index. The calculation is based on the International Commission on Illumination (CIE) UV-induced erythema Action Spectrum, a standardised measure of human skin's response to different wavelengths of sunlight from UVB to UVA.
Does the temperature sensor measure body temperature?
The Kiwrious temperature measures surface temperature - so when you use it on your body, it measures your skin temperature.
Normal core body temperature falls within a narrow range. However, skin temperature can vary a lot more, depending on environmental and individual factors.
Can I take more than 3 measurements per inquiry?
Currently you can only take 3 measurements per inquiry. We are working to make more measurements possible in the future.
For now, you can extend the inquiry through doing a replication or remix (and taking 3 more each time you replicate or remix).
How do I delete my inquiries?
You can't delete inquiries at the moment, but you can unpublish them so that nobody else can see them and they don't show up on the discover page.
Go to my inquiries
Select the inquiry you want to unpublish
Click on the 'Published' button to the right of your inquiry title
Select 'Unpublish' from the dropdown menu
We are working to release a delete function soon.
Can I restrict what my students see on the discover page?
We hope to encourage peer sharing and discovery in a safe environment, so we've set it up such that students will see all inquiries published by users in the same school. You can ask them to search for specific usernames or filter the inquiries by sensor type to make it easier for them to find relevant inquiries. If this does not meet your needs, please send in feedback and tell us more.
Who can see what my students and I publish?
Students and teachers from your school with Kiwrious accounts will be able to see what you and your students have published on the platform. This refers to anyone who has created an account using your exclusive school code, or a class code generated from a teacher account under your school.
How can students access the K-VASI questionnaire again if they didn’t complete it when signing up?
Students who have not completed the K-VASI will see a small questionnaire icon next to their usernames (top right corner) after they log in to the platform. Clicking on the icon will open the questionnaire in a new tab for them to complete and submit.
How do students access the second K-VASI questionnaire?
We will make this available to them through the platform after 4 to 6 weeks of use.
