For the second straight year, Shapleigh School has been selected to represent York County in the WinterKids Winter Games Competitive Division. Students in all five grade levels are taking part in a variety of outdoor activities, with this year's theme "Weather". This first week, students modeled the greenhouse effect in a fun outdoor activity, while younger students made frozen suncatchers using natural items found on the playground.Â
In week #2, students learned about the Albedo Effect, the amount of sunlight reflected by a surface. Despite the cold temperatures, students in all five grade levels got outside, made snow structures, and measured changed caused by the Albedo Effect.
