Welcome to my academic portfolio.
My name is Shakhawan Abdulrahman Mustafa, a lecturer and researcher at the Kurdistan Institution for Strategic Studies and Scientific Research (KISSR).
I hold a master's degree in molecular biotechnology from the Rhenish Friedrich Wilhelm University of Bonn. Continuing my academic journey, I pursued and successfully obtained a PhD degree in molecular biology of cancer from the renowned German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) at the Ruprecht Karl University of Heidelberg in Germany.
Having a strong passion for advancing scientific knowledge, I have had the privilege of conducting research as a postdoctoral researcher at the LOEWE Center for Cell and Gene Therapy in Frankfurt. Specifically, I contributed my expertise in the department of Hematology / Oncology at the Goethe-University Hospital in Frankfurt, in Prof. Dr. Michael Rieger's group.
Currently, I am honored to act as the director of the Kurdistan Center for Cancer Research at KISSR, where I continue to make significant strides in cancer research. Simultaneously, I'm teaching some modules at different regional universities and supervising post-graduate students.
Throughout my career, I have authored articles in internationally renowned journals with high-impact factors. Additionally, I have participated in various international conferences, workshops, and symposia.
