William J. Zinchini

William J. Zinchini was born April 27, 1921 in Vandergrift, and was the son of the late Joseph and Ralphine (Intrieri) Zinchini. He had two brothers named, Emanuel and Dominick Zinchini, and four sister named Ann Rosensteel, Mary McDonald, Rose Toto, and Julie Otto. He had a wife named Alfreda Zinchini that passed on April 22, 1991. The two are survived by two sons, Jeffrey (Terri) Zinchini of Allegheny Township, and William (Carolyn) Zinchini of Fort Mill S.C., as well as a daughter, Karen (Lucien) Bove of Greensburg; nine grandchildren, Tiffany Marie, Matthew Ryan, Cassandra Lynn, Justin Matthew, Jordan Andrew, Christian David, Michael, Victoria and Anthony; sister, Josephine Bucci of Vandergrift, and two brothers Jack (Pauline) Zinchini and Frank “Chick” (Frances) Zinchini of Vandergrift. 

William J. Zinchini served in World War II in the Air Force. After the war, he became a lab technician for U.S. steel in Dravosburg, and later retired in 1980. He was a member of the St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus where he was a 4th degree knight, the Eagles in New Kensington, and the VFW and American Legion in Vandergrift. William passed on January 3, 2009, in the Red Stone Highland Nursing Home in Greensburg at the age of 87. He was buried in the Greenwood Memorial Park in a mausoleum.
