Wesley J. Carnahan

Wesley J. Carnahan was a veteran of the Korean War. He was born on October 13, 1929 in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania. During the war, he served in the United States Navy aboard the destroyer tender USS Prairie (AD-15). The USS Prairie's job was to provide maintenance for flotillas of destroyers and other small warships. The USS Prairie stayed in Korea to provide tending services for U.N. forces in the area from February 2 to August 3 1951, April 6 to September 10 1952, and finally from late August to April 11 1954. After the war, Mr. Carnahan worked for 28 years at Westinghouse as a machinist. He passed away on January 10, 2010.
