Paul E. Uhing
Born July 14, 1934, in Vandergrift, he was the son of the late William B. and Violet Shaeffer Uhing. Paul was a veteran of the Navy, having served during the Korean War, had been employed by Allegheny Ludlum, Baghdad, as a line operator prior to his retirement in 1995 after 43 years of employment. He had been a past chief with the Parks Township Fire Department, a member of the Slovak Club in Parks Township, Vandergrift Fireman's Club, American Legion and VFW. His relatives alive now include Elizabeth A. Hays Uhing who is 61 now; a son, Ronald P. Uhing; a daughter, Linda J. (Michael) Bartoe, all of Kepple Hill; a grandson, Philip M. Bartoe; a great-granddaughter, Elina Bartoe; one brother, William E. Uhing, of Kepple Hill; and two sisters, Val Jean Jury, of Washington Township, and Lois (Carl) Geiger, of Surfside, S.C. Paul passed away at the age of 77 on Wednesday, April 11, 2012.
