James Y. Snyder


James Young Snyder was born on July 9th, 1924.  He was scheduled to report for a physical examination on Oct. 16th, 1945, leading up to being officially drafted shortly after at the age of 21.  He later became an Army Corporal, but was never shipped to the European Front or the Pacific campaign.  He instead was kept in the states and assigned to be a military escort wherever he was stationed.  In his time of service, he was given the Victory Medal, like many others.  Later on, he was honorably discharged on October 16th, 1946.  After his time served, he received a commendation letter from Harry Truman.
