Silvis DeLuca 

Born February 28, 1924, Silvis DeLuca went to high school in Kittanning and continued his studies up through his junior year. He was enlisted at age 19 as a Private in the Fourth Armored Division on April 20, 1943. Honorably discharged on December 5, 1945 he returned back to his family in Vandergrift. After the war, he was a masterful chef and winemaker. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and preparing Italian meals. Some of his hobbies included golf, going camping, fishing, and gardening. On December 25, 2013, he passed away peacefully from a lengthy illness at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
