Roy Gourley

Roy G. Gourley is known for his service during World War Two.  He was born in Apollo Pennsylvania on April 13, 1923.  Gourley lived at home with his parents, Frank and Lora Gourley, his brother Albert Gourley, and his sister, Marjorie Gourley for the first twenty years of his life.  He enlisted into the service four days after his twentieth birthday on April 17, 1943.  Roy Gourley was part of the US Army Air Corps, belonging in the 405th AAFBU.  He fought for three years and was discharged in Fort Logan, Colorado on February 23, 1946.  Gourley died at the age of 75 in his home in Sarver, PA on December 8, 1998.  He was laid to rest at the Edgewood Cemetery in Saltsburg, Pennsylvania.
