Robert J. Sproull
Robert J. Sproull was born on October 13th, 1932 in Leechburg, Pennsylvania. He graduated Vandergrift High School in 1953. Robert served in the Army during the Korean War. He was employed for 32 and ½ years by the Kiski Area School District as a custodian. Robert was also a member of the Vandergrift VFD No. 2 for 50 years, serving as an ambulance driver for 18 years, and member of the Westmoreland & Armstrong County, Western PA and PA firemen’s associations. He was a member of the High Hatters of Western PA Firemen’s Association, member/past president of the Old Timer’s Fire Association, & past president and treasurer of Apollo House Company No. 3. He volunteered his services at the Vandergrift and Apollo fire halls. Robert passed away on Wednesday, June 26th, 2013.
