Richard C. Kahl

Richard C. Kahl was born on April 19th, 1924. He grew up in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania and served in the United States Army Air Forces. Kahl attained the rank of commander serving from 1943 until the end of the war. He was deployed to the South Pacific flying bombers. Richard was 19 when he enlisted.


After Richard C. Kahl reached the rank of 1st Lieutenant he was sent to flight school and was named outstanding cadet during training. He was rapidly promoted reaching the rank of commander. He flew B-24s, B-25s and B-29s and Tinian Island in the South Pacific. Kahl served for 4 years and was decorated with the Air Medal among others.


When Richard C. Kahl got out of the military, he continued his education at Allegheny College and finished his bachelor's degree in 1948. He then moved to New York where he received a law degree from the University of Buffalo in 1953. He worked in New York as an attorney for 28 years, then opened his own practice in Lewiston, New York.


Richard eventually got married to Beverly J. Rodgers. He had 2 kids, Les and David. Kahl died from cancer on May 24th, 2007 at 83 years old.
