Alvin Rankin

Alvin Lynn Rankin

Alvin was born in Allegheny County Pennsylvania on December 27th, 1931. He served in the Korean war as a member of the United States Army, and he worked in the tank division as a gunnery instructor. He also instructed at Fort Knox during his time in the army. He served from 1952 to 1955.  He was married to Diane Rankin and had three children who now have grandchildren. He died at the age of 85 in Brackenridge of cancer on February 27th, 2017. Before and after the War he worked at Allegheny Ludlum as a machinist. He retired in 1995 after 45 years. Alvin enjoyed airplanes, traveling, stock car racing, and trains.
