Mario J. Bione
Mario John Bione is a well respected veteran serving in World War II. He was born in Vandergrift on September 29, 1922. Mr. Bione enlisted in the U.S. Navy on November 6, 1942 at the age of 20 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Mr. Bione served as a Pharmacist’s mate 2nd class in the U.S. Navy reserves. The Pharmacist's mate, Second Class, performs general nursing duties, ward, and first aid duties He was killed in action at Iwo Jima. He died on March 2, 1945.
