Michael Marhefka 

Michael Marhefka, 99, of McKeesport, died Sunday, November 7, 2010, in Kane Regional Center, McKeesport. Born in Pittsburgh, December 8, 1910, he was the son of the late John and Susie Karaffa Marhefka. A retired custodian from Penn State University Greater Allegheny Campus, he was also a former mechanic for PennDOT and Jacobanski Service in Port Vue. He served two terms with the U.S. Army as a sergeant. In the first term, he participated in the D-Day Invasion at Normandy and was awarded a Bronze Star. In the second term, he was part of the Honor Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider at Arlington National Cemetery. He is survived by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by six brothers, John (Yick), George, Joseph, Andrew and Steve Marhefka and John (Bud) Burick.
