L.C. Heddinger
Lester Charles Heddinger was born in his first home during the fall of 1904. Better known to his friends and family as “L.C.”, he enlisted in the U.S. Army on February 25, 1942 when he was 38 years old. He was divorced by the time of his enlistment with his namesake son waiting for him at home. After enlisting in New Cumberland, PA his jobs in the military varied across various kitchen related duties. After the completion of his term he went on to work for the U.S. Steel Corporation’s plant in Vandergrift alongside his brother. L.C. was adding to the list of Heddingers to have served the country through military service. He passed away in his home at age 65.
