John G. Lizik
John Lizik was born on June 28, 1918 to parents Charles and Eva Bandura Lizik. He lived in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania all his life. He married Antoinette Morgante just before he enlisted in WWII on February 27, 1945. He went in as a private with no branch assignment. He soon chose the Air Force. His term was enlistment through the end of the war plus 6 months, and he fulfilled his time as a mechanic, and not on the front lines. After this, he spent 40 years working as a mechanic at Braeburn Steel and spending time with his family. Surviving him are sons Charles Lizik, Lawrence Lizik, and John G. Lizik Jr.; grandchildren Larry Lizik, Jennifer Lizik, Stephanie Lizik, and Joshua Lizik and Kelly Ziencik; great-grandchildren Madison Lizik, Matthew Lizik and Jaiden Lizik and Bailey Ziencik. He passed away on June 2, 2006 due to a house fire.
