James Orr

James Wesley Orr, was born September 24, 1924 in Warren PA. He joined the Army in 1942 at the age of 18 after he graduated from Boswell High School, and one year later married Marjorie Dill. During his time in the service he was a member of the 300th Quartermaster division, and was stationed across Europe as the war progressed. His division was responsible for storage and transportation of supplies to troops at the front, along with resupplying units that were on their way to the front. After the war Orr lived a very quiet life, having returned to farming in the Warren County area, but remained active in his community, joining the American Legion and becoming a  member of a Masonic lodge. Orr was known to visit historical sites often, having a deep interest in world war 2 and enjoyed gardening and working in his tool shop. He passed away on September 2, 2011 at the age of 86, peacefully in his home. Below is the insignia for the US army and the Quartermasters division’s insignia respectively.
