Jack E. Jewart

Jack Jewart Sr. was born August 13, 1934 in Vandergrift, Pa. Jewart was a part of the US Navy during the Korean War. Jack was also a volunteer firefighter for over 50 years. He enjoyed playing music, and was a part of the Thunders Fire Department marching band. He was the son of Kelso and Violet Jewart. He was married to Rose Marie Silva Jewart. They had two sons, Jack Jewart Jr. and Randy Jewart. They also had two daughters, Kim and Dorrina Jewart. He had been employed by Wean United as a roll turner prior to retiring in 1974 after 28 years of employment, then had worked for Aloca as a security guard. He was also a past member of the Vandergrift VFW and American Legion, past member of the Vandergrift Council and had been the past mayor of Vandergrift. He is now located in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in West Leechburg.
