Harry J. Davis

Harry J. Davis is remembered for his service in the second World War.  He was born on January 28, 1923 in North Vandergrift to Clarence J. and Amanda R. Davis.  He served as a Private First Class in the US Army, and served through the end of the war.  After he returned, he was employed by Canterbury Coal Company as a heavy equipment operator.  He was married to Mary Louise Harris on August 27, 1942.  He was an active volunteer for his church and nursing homes, and he died in his home on August 23, 2006 at the age of 83.  He was survived by his daughter, Barbara Wilkerson, six grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
