Francheski, George L.
George L. Francheski, 84, of Vandergrift, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014, in West Haven Manor, Washington Township. Born May 20, 1930, in Conemaugh Township, Somerset County, to the late Pelligrino and Ida Francheski, George lived in Vandergrift most of his life. He was employed as a machinist at General Motors in McKeesport for 30 years before retiring in 1980. He was also a veteran of the Army. George enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family and friends. Besides his parents, George was preceded in death by his brothers, Arthur V. Vicini, William Vicini and James Franceschi; and a sister, Helen Walker. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marie A. Francheski, of Vandergrift; daughter, Linda M. Horrell, of Washington Township; son, David L. Francheski, of California; three grandchildren, Kelly and Mitchell Horrell, of Washington Township, and Hannah Francheski, of California; sister, Laura Brochetti, of Kirkland, Ohio; as well as several nieces and nephews.
