Donald H. Bladen

Donald Bladen was born in Leechburg, PA on August 13, 1897.  He had two sisters, Olive and Margaret.  He stood six feet tall and had hazel eyes.  In 1915  Mr. Bladen was a student in New Kensington before enlisting into the United States Army on August 24, 1918.  He served for the duration of World War I.  He entered service as a Private, but by the end of World War I had been promoted to Corporal and then again to Sergeant.  At the conclusion of World War I Donald was Honorably Discharged in October of 1919.  

Between World War I and World War II Mr. Bladen lived in Baltimore as a salesman before moving to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania sometime prior to 1932, at which time he was a Sales Manager in the Harrisburg area.  During this time period he also married Ina Bladen.  Sometime over the next decade Donald moved to Hyattsville, Prince George County, in Maryland, before deciding to enlist again in 1942 at the age of 45 as part of World War II.

After World War II Donald lived out his days on West Lake Avenue in Maryland until his death on November 2, 1962.  The Kiski Area Veterans Website is proud to tell the story of Donald Bladen!
