Robert J. Chilko

Robert Chilko was born on April 13, 1928, in East Vandergrift, to John and Catherine Knasko Chilko. He was a life long resident of the area. Mr. Chilko was a veteran of the Korean War. He received his bachelors degree from Pittsburgh University and worked as a mechanical engineer for Alcoa in Merwin for 36 years until he retired in 1989.  Robert enjoyed the outdoors. Also, he enjoyed creating art out of metal and wood. Robert Chilko passed away on June 9, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret J. "Peg" Gibbons Chilko; three children, Cynthia Finn and Carol Cable, both of Lower Burrell, and Michael Chilko, of Allegheny Township; granddaughter, Mallory (Ryan) Cable-Hendricks; sisters, Julie (Joe) Kuchta, of Pittsburgh, Irene Hoffman, of Virginia, Virginia (Ed) Thompson, of California, Betty (Bob) Johnson, of California, and Margie Fallone, of Leechburg; brother, Joseph (Clara) Chilko, of East Vandergrift.
