Carl R. Early
On October 17, 1932, Earl and Elzada Himes Early gave birth to their son Carl R. Early. Mr. Early was a resident of Vandergrift for his entire life. He enlisted in the army as a radio operator and earned the rank of corporal during the Korean War. After serving, he was a machinist at Wooding Tool Works in Oakmont. He retired in 1985 after being employed for 29 years. Mr. Early was a member of St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church located in Vandergrift. He also spent his time at the Vandergrift Golf Club. In 1960, Carl married Angeline O. Amaranto Early, who he was married to for 43 years. They had four children together. Mr. Early passed away on January 14, 2003 at UPMC Montefiore in Pittsburgh. He was laid to rest at Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell.
