Bruno Serventi

Bruno Serventi, 86, of Avonmore, formerly of the Maysville section of Kiski Township, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. He was born April 6, 1922, in Sarah Furnace, Clarion County, a son of the late Angelo and Ida DelSanti Serventi. He was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, VFW Post 7901 and the Francesco Fererra Lodge No. 190, all in Avonmore. Before his retirement in 1979, he was employed as a coal miner, having worked last in Brownstown. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the Army in the capacity of MP unit. Bruno loved people and "could never sit still." He loved to polka, play cards and follow the local Little League teams and in his earlier years was an avid hunter and gardener. His pleasant disposition and gentle demeanor will never be forgotten. He is survived by two daughters, Cathy Love and her husband, Gary, of Derry, and Connie Momberger and her husband, Bob, of Windber; five grandchildren, Christian Love, Rachel Love and her fiance Mike Challinor, Scott Momberger and his wife Dawn, Robert L. Momberger and his wife Katie, and Todd Momberger; and four sisters, Mary Brewer, of Leechburg, Rena Pacy, of Rimersburg, Alda Bernini and Rose Montali, both of Kiski Township. He is also survived by his companion of 14 years, Mary Ann Kellar. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Patrick Serventi, in 1994; a brother, Primo Serventi; and two sisters, Ernastina Pacy and Louise Bottali.
