Robert C. Atkinson was a Korean War Veteran who was born in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania on October 16, 1928 and later died on May 30th, 2012. He was the child of William W. and Bessie J. Atkinson. He graduated from Vandergrift High School and then he courageously served in the U.S. Army of Occupation in Japan after World War II. He was stationed in Japan during the Korean War. Robert was a well trained soldier and earned the rank Private E-2. After the war, Mr. Atkinson moved North and attended Rider College in New Jersey, then settled and last passed away in Rockville, Connecticut. He had two kids named David and Christine, and a wife named Beverly.
