Born Sept. 11, 1923, in Vandergrift, he was the son of the late Joseph and Maria (Ardani) Ambrose and had lived in Vandergrift all his life.

Arthur had been employed at the Vandergrift plant of U.S. Steel as a data processor prior to retiring in 1981. He also co-owned the Country Tavern in Gilpin Township during the 1940s and 50s.

Arthur has a son, Arthur J. Ambrose, of Vandergrift; a granddaughter, Erin Ambrose, of State College, and a sister, Amelia Caratelli, of Indiana, Pa.
