Anthony DePanicis was born on June 20, 1934. He was born in Nowrytown, Pennsylvania and grew up in Pine Run, Allegheny Township. Anthony was the son of Mary and Leonard DePanicis. He graduated from Vandergrift High School in 1952. He then served from 1953 to 1957 with the United States Air Force; he was not in actual combat, but he participated in operations pertaining to the Korean War. After the war he returned to Vandergrift and became a claims manager for Penn National Insurance Company. He was also a member of St. Gertrude, the Sons of Italy, and other local groups. Anthony DePanicis passed away on March 26, 2015.
