Christopher Sloan

Master Sergeant Christopher Sloan has served in the United States Army since April 1998, and continues his duties today. He was raised in Vandergrift PA and is a 1994 Kiski Area High School graduate. After his graduation he worked as an Emergency Medical Technician while attending the Center for Emergency Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh; after graduation he enlisted in the Army in Pittsburgh. 

Once he finished his basic training in Fort Jackson, South Carolina he stationed in Fort Hood, Texas and Yongsan Garrison in Seoul, and South Korea before working in recruiting in Chicago, Illinois. He was reclassified to Psychological Operations in 2006; Mr. Sloan served as team sergeant to detachment sergeant in special operation units in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Virginia Beach, Virginia, and South Korea while also being deployed to Iraq, Kuwait, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Afghanistan (serving more than 112 months in overseas locations). Not only did he earn a Master of Arts degree in International Relations at Norwich University and  Bachelor of Arts degree in East Asian Studies at the University of Maryland University College (UMUC), all while being enlisted. He also completed a graduate certificate in Strategic Communications at Appalachian State University, UMUC, and Yonsei University in Korea.

The Bronze Star, Meritorious Service, Joint Service Commendation, Army Commendation (5th Award), Joint Service Achievement (2nd Award), Army Achievement (6th Award), Good Conduct (6th Award), Afghanistan Campaign, Iraq Campaign, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service, NATO Medals as well as other service and campaign medals and ribbons the Combat Action Badge, the Parachutist Badge, foreign parachutist badges from Germany (2nd Award), Netherlands, and Poland. Graduated the Commandant's List of the Primary Leadership Development Course, Distinguished Honor Graduate of the Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, and Honor Graduate of the Senior Leaders Course.

Now, he is happily married to the former Okjin Kim of Seoul, South Korea; together they have one daughter Madison Yeonah. Mr. Sloan is a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Psychological Operations Regimental Association, member of the Noncommissioned Officers Association, Club Officer of the Norwich University Alumni Club of Fayetteville, North Carolina. He volunteers as the Athletic Director of Team RWB Fort Bragg.
