Richard E. Miller

Richard E. Miller was born in Vandergrift Pennsylvania on June 12, 1946. He served in the Vietnam War from June 1964 to June 1967 as part of the 173rd Airborne Brigade, and later the 106th Trans. Company Battles. He was a part of the Vietnam Campaign, ranked 4E meaning a specialist or corporal. Throughout his time in the service he received a multitude of honors and awards including the Parachute Badge, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, as well as the Sharpshooter Medal.

Before entering the military and completing three years of service, Richard Miller graduated from Kiski Area High School. He went on to attend the Ohio State University, where he earned a B.S. in Education and an M.A. in Educational Administration. He worked at South Western City Schools for 30 years before retiring. He married Antoinette Stano of West Leechburg, and together they had two children and two grandchildren. Miller and his wife are still living in Galloway, Ohio.
