Steve J. Long 

Steve J. Long originally lived at  1157 Washington Street. North Vandergrift and was born on August 11, 1920.  His highest level of education was only up to elementary school.  Throughout his life he never found the right women so he stayed a bachelor his whole life.  When Steve enlisted on July 22, 1942 he was merely 22 years of age.  He turned in his application at Fort Meade, Maryland.  Soon to come Mr. Long would be serving 2 terms in the army obtaining the position of private; From August 5th, 1942 - April 23rd, 1943 and then from November 16th, 1945 - December 21th, 1945.  Steve J Long stayed active 6 months after the war until he was released from Indiantown, PA.  His occupations after the war were working with cement, plaster, and gypsum.  When Mr. Long died on December 25, 1971, he was buried in St. Gertrude Cemetery in Vandergrift.
