Jimmy S. Donghia was born on January 7th 1920 in Italy. He was the 2nd of 6 children to Onifrio Donghia and Angelina Giotto. Jimmy and his 2 brothers’ (Angelo-older, Sebastian-younger) with their parents immigrated to the U.S. through Ellis Island in 1922 and settled in Vandergrift.Vandergrift Heights and Park Plan areas were heavily populated by Italians. There his parents had 3 children- Rose, Nancy and Joseph. Jimmy was stationed in Italy and he died in action in 1943, his dates of service were 11-6-42 and 7-31-43.
