Waid Ridenour

Waid Ridenour was born on July 16, 1899 to Mrs. Mary Pepley. He grew up in Avonmore, PA, and at the age of 18 he enlisted on April 19, 1917. He was assigned to Camp Hancock in Georgia after he enlisted. Mr. Ridenour reached the rank of Corporal, and on May 1, 1918 he was sent overseas to France. He fought with Company I, 110th Infantry, 28th Division in the Argonne Forest Offensive. But on October 6, 1918 he died from wounds received in battle.
