Joe Rushnit

Joe Leonard Rushnit was born in Roscigno,  Italy on October 13th 1895.  He came from Naples,  Italy and sailed to New Alexandria,  Pennsylvania in June or July of 1913 with his father.  His mother is Angela Palmieri Rushnit.  He lived at 239 Shetland Avenue,  Pittsburgh,  Pennsylvania until he enlisted into the army in New Alexandria.  He was married to Louise Rushit and had two children.  Joe was at Medical Corps Camp Greenleaf in Georgia in May 29th,  1918,  then he was at General Hospital in Eastview New York,  and finally Camp Dix in New Jersey until July 23rd,  1919.  He had no grades or ratings with dates of appointments.  He has no engagements.  He had no wounds or other injuries received with dates.  He didn’t serve overseas.  He was honorably discharged on July 23rd,  1919 at Camp Dix,  New Jersey.  He didn’t apply for or receive a bonus or veteran’s compensation from any other state.  He didn’t refuse on conscientious,  political,  or other grounds to perform full military duty or to render unqualified service.
