Check out the April Badge Update!
Boost your skills with digital learning tools, resources, and district programming, like Google for Education, Nearpod, Flocabulary, Flipgrid, Clever, and more. Our professional development sessions are self-paced, engaging, and developed by experts to give you the most relevant skills that use edtech to create effective learning. Courses will also target areas such as MAP, Social-Emotional Learning, and Special Populations. Badges are an additional professional development piece that can be used to support teacher evaluations and goal setting. You can earn individual badges on each page and work your way through the four main levels: Tech Cadet, Collaborator, Pioneer, and Innovator. How many badges can you collect? How many ranks will you earn?

The digital badge program is centered around the 4 C's of Technology: Communication, Collaboration, Creativity, and Critical Thinking. The four levels are Tech Cadet, Collaborator, Pioneer, and Innovator. Information and requirements for each level are provided on the badge page. Faculty and staff can begin as a Tech Cadet and work their way towards the Innovator badge. There are also additional pathways available that focus on various district programming, including Google, SEL, Special Populations, MAP, and more. Each session provided will be less than one (1) hour of time with most being closer to 30 minutes.
Being a complement to degrees and certifications, these badges help the participants translate their learning experiences into skills. They serve as an opportunity for showcasing the unique skill set our diverse population of teachers brings to the table. Each badge will reflect a different area of proficiency and demonstrate to others areas where you are the expert. Badges will also help others identify who they can go to for support in various programs and areas.
The criteria for earning a badge and rubrics that assess a learner are established by the Curriculum and Student Services department. Each badge will provide detailed instructions and requirements for earning it. Once requirements are completed, faculty and staff will complete the Google Form at the bottom of this page. The Curriculum & Student Services department will verify the submission and email the badge to the faculty/staff member. The Curriculum & Student Services department will track who earned the badge, how it was earned, who issued it, and evidence of work as applicable.
Faculty and staff may include their badges in their email signatures, teacher bios, teacher web pages, and anything that is shared with students and parents. We also encourage teachers to post their badges outside their classrooms as a way for faculty and staff to identify who they can come to for support, and for bragging rights of course!
