Classroom Policies/Procedures
CLASS EXPECTATIONS
1. Respect yourself, the teacher & others
∙ Show respect for the teacher, yourself and others at all times.
∙ Respect others’ property. Avoid touching or writing on anything that does not belong to you. Remain seated during instruction!
2. Be prepared for class each day: Come prepared with all materials necessary.
3. Follow directions when given/Pay Attention
∙ Do your best to follow directions the first time. Remain engaged in the classroom and don’t hesitate to ask questions!
4. Preserve a positive learning environment
∙ Student actions that interfere with teaching or learning in the classroom will NOT be tolerated.
∙ Use class time to learn. Please do not spend your time grooming, sleeping, talking, writing notes, doing work for other classes, etc.
5. Makeup & Late Work
∙ In the event of an absence, students will be given 3 days to complete and turn in makeup work.
∙ Failing assessment grades can be made up to a maximum of 70 if completed within 5 school days.
∙ Late work will not be accepted past 5 school days. 10 points per day will be deducted for days 1-3. A 50 will be the highest possible grade on days 4-5.
CLASS RULES/CONSEQUENCES
1. Turn off cell phones & electronic devices
∙ Use of electronic devices is NOT permitted in my classroom unless with permission.
∙ Cell Phones should be turned off and in backpacks during the class period. If I see or hear your phone it will be taken away and given to an administrator, according to cell phone policy outlined in the student handbook.
2. No food or drink, except water
∙ No food/beverage permitted. Bottled water OK (flipping = trash)
3. Arrive to class on time & ready to learn/Dismissal
∙ When the bell rings, you need to be sitting in your assigned seat with your folder/notebook and working on the bell ringer. Wait to be dismissed.
4. Use polite and appropriate language
∙ Remember, if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say it at all!
5. Tardies
∙ On the 4th tardy, the conduct grade is lowered and further disciplinary action occurs.
6. Consequences
