Classroom Policies/Procedures
Grades:
Each unit consists of a variety of daily assignments ending with a test and/or final project. Many daily assignments and projects will be in small groups. Assignments count as Daily Grades and Tests/Projects as Major G-rades. Assignments and projects will be in Google Classroom. Assignments, projects, and grades will be in Skyward.
90-100 - A
80-89 - B
70-79 - C
Below 70 - F
I do round up so a 79, 89, etc. will not be your final grade.
Late Work:
An assignment is LATE at the end of the instructional school day on the due date. The grade drops 10 points each day up to 3 days. After 4 days the maximum grade achievable is a 50%. Most failures in this class are due to late and/or missing assignments.
Missed Assignments:
Students have one day per one day of absence to complete and turn in missing assignments without grading penalties. It is the responsibility of the student to get missing assignments.* Extracurricular Activities:
Missed classes due to extracurricular activities (Athletics, Band, Cheer, FFA, etc) relating to due date ARE NOT COUNTED AS ABSENCES. All assigned work must be turned in ON OR BEFORE THE DUE DATE. Students can turn in work electronically through Google Classroom or before school.
World Geography RULES-
1) Be prompt-be seated and ready for class when the bell rings
2.) Be respectful of yourself, others, and KISD property
3.) Be responsible-come to class on time, turn in work on time, etc.
CONSEQUENCES-if YOU choose not to follow the rules…
1st offense-Warning from the teacher
2nd offense-Teacher-parent/guardian contact
3rd offense- write-up
SEVERE MISBEHAVIOR will be handled immediately!
Phones/Electronics:
No phones or earbuds or smartwatch in class per Texas law. Phones should be put away and off of the desk or lap to avoid any misunderstanding. If you have your phone out it will be taken up and guardians will have to pay $15 to retrieve the phone. If a student refuses to turn in a phone when asked, the student receives a referral AND the guardian still has to pay the $15.
NO FOOD OR DRINK EXCEPT WATER BOTTLES.
Do not order food during my class because I will not let you leave.
Restroom Policy: Don’t ask to go right after the bell and don’t abuse restroom privileges.
Chrome books
Please make sure to be responsible and take care of your devices. They will be used in all classes and will need to be charged each night so that you can come to class ready and prepared.
Greatest Classroom Rule: RESPECT
We will strive to show respect to each other and to property while on campus and at KHS activities and functions.
