I am the District Dyslexia Coordinator for Kilgore ISD. My job is to work closely with all of our dyslexia specialists and to collaborate with Special Education and 504 Coordinators to ensure that our students are receiving appropriate services. I also work alongside licensed diagnosticians when a dyslexia evaluation is needed and conducted. Along with analyzing student data & reports and holding campus data meetings, I also ensure all legal aspects of the Texas Dyslexia Handbook are being implemented with fidelity across the district.

Dyslexia is a different brain organization that needs different teaching methods. It is never the fault of the child, but rather the responsibility of us who teach to find methods that work for that child.
