We understand that many families are eager to learn more about the placement process for our Learn to Soar Co-Curricular programs. The information below outlines how students are evaluated and selected for team placement.
Students are assessed during placement sessions using the rubric provided below. Coaches evaluate each student based on:
Skill Level
Experience
Readiness & Engagement
Attitude
Teamwork
All placement sessions are conducted by experienced coaches, with multiple coaches observing and evaluating each student throughout the process.
There are no grade-level quotas for team selection. Coaches do not place a predetermined number of 6th-, 7th-, or 8th-grade students on a team. Instead, placements are based solely on each student's performance during the assessment process and their overall evaluation according to the placement rubric.
We understand that not being selected for a Learn to Soar program can be disappointing. Students who are not placed are strongly encouraged to participate in the Learn to Fly program. Learn to Fly takes place during school hours and provides valuable opportunities for skill development, training, and experience that can help students prepare for future placement opportunities and continued growth within our co-curricular programs.
Our goal is to provide students with meaningful opportunities to grow, challenge themselves, develop new skills, and build positive connections with their peers. We appreciate your support and partnership throughout the placement process.
