Email: Megan.Weight@kippdc.org
Megan Weight is the Elementary School Math Core Content Specialist for the VLP. After graduating from Rutgers University with a Masters in Education she started her teaching career in Washington D.C. After two years in D.C., Megan left to volunteer abroad before moving to Seattle, WA. In Seattle she taught 1st and 2nd grade for 5 years. During the 2020-2021 school year she taught fully remote and found a passion for reaching students virtually. She found joy in creating digital content that is student centered, engaging and fun. She learned to adapt the in-person learning experience into a virtual atmosphere. Knowing that she'd be moving during the next school year, she knew she could not be in the classroom and began searching for a fully remote job. She was excited to find an opportunity back where her teaching career began in D.C., and joined the KIPP DC Virtual Learning Program. As a digital learning creator, she is able to continue to create content for students to support their academic growth. Outside of school, Megan loves being outdoors, hiking, training for triathlons and spending time with her dog, friends, and family.
