Email: Kelsey.Murray@kippdc.org
Kelsey Murray is the 4th grade Learning Coordinator at the Virtual Learning Program. She grew up in southern California and started her post-high school education at Syracuse University. The ocean and street tacos called her back to California and she transferred to University of California, San Diego where she earned her B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Elementary Education. Kelsey began working as a kindergarten teacher at the YMCA and was quickly promoted to director where she operated and managed an elementary school facility. Kelsey and her family moved to the Washington D.C. area of Virginia in 2018. While living in Virginia, Kelsey enjoyed exploring beautiful D.C. and teaching as a resource 3rd-5th grade teacher. In May of 2021, Kelsey earned her Masters degree in Special Education: General Curriculum K-12 from Regent University. A few months later, she moved back to California where she currently lives with her twin 6-year-old sons and nearly 2-year-old daughter. She has been teaching at the VLP since August of 2021. Kelsey enjoys exploring new cities, going to parks, visiting beaches, and reading suspense novels. She will never turn down a good meal or conversation! Kelsey believes education must be rooted in strong community, partnerships, and reflective practices. She enjoys meeting and growing with a new set of students each year.Â
