• Today is the day you have all been waiting for... it is time for the iReady incentive we mentioned last week! Today, during your homeroom iReady time, teachers will be distributing candy rewards to each student that met the weekly expectation in both math and reading for minutes and lessons passed. To be entered into next week's drawing, continue working in iReady towards passing your lessons and earning those minutes!

• The Science Olympiad team did a great job at this past weekend's competition! The Varsity team medaled in 9 events and the JV team medaled in 6 events! A special congratulations goes out to these students who received medals in their events: Henry Loewecke, Aksh Patel, Kanon Versack, Cassandra Nurczyk, Karmin Boelk, Max Rappuhn, Auggie Ahlberg, Isaac Pruitt, Elliette Thomas, Angel Patel, Michaela McBride, Dean Cousin, Ava Fedie, Trevor Berth, Myles Irving, Andrew Emanuel, Benton Gilbert, Dominic Lupo, and Alex Polak. There is practice for all students tonight until 5:00 which will include taking a team picture for the yearbook.

If the temperature at recess time is above 35 degrees, all students will head outside for some fresh air and a change of scenery. The current forecast for today shows temps above 35 degrees at the lunch time, so everyone should plan to be outside today.

Congratulation to Haylie Simpson, she ended her RMS cross country career on a win! This past weekend, Haylie became the first ever Roscoe Middle School athlete to win the IESA 3A Cross Country State championship! She placed 1st out of over 200 of Illinois best middle school runners and gets to call herself the 2025 State Champion. Way to go, Haylie!

• Congratulations to both the JV and Varsity Volleyball teams for their victories vs. Harlem last night to close out their regular season schedule. Both teams will play in the Northern Conference Volleyball Tournament on Saturday. The JV team has secured the #4 seed and will play #5 seed Stephen Mack at 10:30 am in Freeport. The Varsity has secured the #2 seed in the tournament and will be playing #7 seed Freeport @ Rockford Christian - that game time has not yet been posted. Best of luck to both teams this weekend!

Congratulation to sectional champion Haylie Simpson, she will be representing the girls cross country at the state meet this weekend. • Congratulations to the Varsity Soccer tem for their first round tournament victory over Willowbrook yesterday with a score of 3-2. That win advanced them to the semifinal round on Tuesday at 400 pm vs. Rockford Christian. The JV Soccer team completed their regular season undefeated, and automatically advanced to the semifinal round of their tournament. They will also play here at Roscoe on Tuesday at 5:15 pm. The boys won the Rock River Conference title and had 6 team members place in the top 20. Teig Delong, Emerson Walker, Haden Jang, Miles Lindberg, 6th grader Ben McLarty placed 3rd overall, and 7th Grader Peyton Hoover placed 2nd overall.

All students who have earned passing grades for the quarter will be eligible to attend our Brave Achievers Assemblies. Through this program, we encourage our students to practice goal-setting and making positive choices that lead to educational success. The Quarter 1 Brave Achievers' Assembly will be Friday, November 7th.

• The varsity soccer team has a home game vs. Lutheran today at 4:15. Stop out today and cheer on the team!

• Thanks to the cheer squad for the awesome spirit signs in the gym and in the hallway near the gym. The signs help bring spirit and excitement to our sports teams!

• Both soccer teams lost their season openers in tightly contested matches vs. Marshall; come out and support the teams tonight as they look to rebound against Freeport! Go Braves!
