These are Websites that May Help You and Your Child:

Google Translate helps people translate between languages.  For example, if a teacher or a friend writes you an email in English, you can translate it into Spanish or Chinese or Polish.  There are many languages to choose from, and although the translations are not perfect, they are a big help in being able to communicate:

BrainPop ELL is a website where your child can learn English or improve his / her vocabulary and grammar.  If your child does not know his / her login information, please email me for help:

Colorin' Colorado is a website with very helpful information about English Learners, bilingualism, and multilingualism.  The articles are available in English and in Spanish.  There is a specific section for families on how to help support your child(ren):

Unite for Literacy has free picture books available to be read in 43 languages and books written in English and in Spanish:

Global Storybooks Portal is a free multilingual literacy resource  that includes storybooks and learning materials in many languages:

BookSmart has free picture books and related activities available in English and in Spanish.  These can be viewed as a website, or the app can be downloaded.  If you click on the world at the top, you can choose whether to view the site in English or in Spanish.  Some books can be read, and others can be listened to while families are making dinner or riding in the car.  Books can also be downloaded.  It is a great way to build students' literacy skills, and families can get ideas about how to talk about the story through the activities:

The Metropolitan Center for Research on the Equity and Transformation of Schools has glossaries with academic (ELA, math, science, and social studies) words in English translated to many other languages. These may be useful to parents helping their child(ren) as well as to students learning English:
