6th Grade
The RMS Demerit System
The demerit system is a way for the RMS staff to monitor student behavior. Throughout the course of a quarter, a child will earn demerits for:
behavior
chewing gum
locker visits
being tardy to class
dress code
not having earbuds
not having an AR book
Chromebook not being charged
Demerits accrued throughout each quarter will result in parent notification, detention(s), or in-school suspension based on the number of demerits the child has received for that quarter.
Each quarter, every student starts at zero demerits.
Detentions are served Monday - Friday (8:30 - 9:00am) or after school (3:20 - 3:50pm)
with the grade level team teachers.
Demerit System:
5 demerits = parent notification
10 demerits = 1 detention
15 demerits = 2 detentions
20 demerits = 2 detentions
25 demerits = 1/2 day In-School Suspension (ISS)
30+ demerits = Full day In-School Suspension (ISS)
