Hello!  I am a teacher of fifth graders at Kinnikinnick School. I have been teaching for 29 years in the Kinnikinnick School District with 18 years with fourth graders and the rest with fifth graders.   I graduated from Western Illinois University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Northern Illinois University in 2003 with my Master's degree.  My students truly keep me inspired and learning something new every day.

To fill my time when I am not at school, I love spending time with my family, reading books, gardening, and just being outdoors.  I live just outside of Pecatonica with my husband and daughter.  Where I live is peaceful and the wildlife is plentiful and entertaining.  There are great stories to be told!  Our daughter is an English high school teacher in another school district.

Students are the center of my teaching.  I strive to make sure each child experiences success. In order for this to happen in our classroom, we must be positive and respectful.  We accept challenges and each other's differences.  We believe in ourselves and never give up.  We work together as a team and have each other's back.  Anytime they are not experiencing success, I will contact you, parents.  We are a team and we need to work together, as well.  Please feel free to contact me too. I am available by email and Class Dojo.  You can also call the school and I will return your call as soon as possible.
