Our Stories So Far...
"Steve and I started our SeedChurch as we wanted to create a space for people who do not usually go to church to feel included. It is for those wanting to know more about the love and peace of Jesus in a highly relational, relaxed, safe, and intimate place, and is centred around the desire for good conversation, a hearty laugh, food and a gin and tonic. The group is more conversational than directional, fostering different perspectives to be explored to better understand the character of God, encounter him through his Word, and transform lives."
SoulFood is a SeedChurch that meets every fortnight for vulnerable people who are mostly isolated from support networks and family. Most of our SoulFood family need support with housing and therapeutic programs. When we meet together we share a beautiful meal that encourages participation, laughter, hope and honest dialogue around our personal stories of life, especially how those stories intersect with the story of Jesus love, grace, provision and incredible hope. We invite our community into a personal relationship through prayer and soul nourishing food served by the Holy Spirit.
There are three SoulFood gatherings. Around 40 people gather together at Hurstville Church of Christ, 55 people at Miranda Salvation Army, and 30 at Menai Church of Christ.
"We love our SeedChurch. We meet together around a meal in the heart of the Wollongong CBD. Wollongong is flourishing with people from all around the world, and so our vision is to create a space and opportunity for people to cook their traditional cultural cuisine, to tell their story of migration to Australia and into Wollongong. As important as our vision is, ultimately our SeedChurch is for people who have given up on traditional church, and for people who want to explore faith around a table. Our deepest heart is to connect all people to the outrageous love and grace of Jesus."
