Welcome to our KS1 page.
On this page there is information to support learning at home. If you scroll down, you will be able to access support resources for phonics, maths, spellings, handwriting, e-safety and our topics. We will also aim to post links to useful resources and websites that we find as well as adding things that link to our topics so you can find out more about the areas that interest you.

This is a copy of the weekly phonics homework sheets for this half term. We will focus on 1 sheet a week over the half term as this matches the sounds we will be learning in our phonics sessions each week.
These are your child’s spellings for the next few weeks .Â
These spellings are taken directly from the phonics/spelling sessions that your child will have received the week before.
They only need to practise one column each week.

This Little Wandle grid contains the different graphemes (how we write the sound) for each phoneme (how we say the sound) - This includes phonemes in Phases 2, 3 and 5.
TRICKY WORD SONGS: Â These are some of the songs we use in class to practise our tricky words from phases 3 and 4.
This song teaches the letter names and their sounds.
The phonics screening will take place for Year 1 in June 2024. Year 2 children who did not pass will also be re-sitting the phonics screening at this time.
Please use the materials below to practise decoding and reading a range of words with your child.
After Easter, you will also be sending out QR codes each week to help prepare your child in the run up to the screening.

This is a poster that you can print to help remind you about letter formation when writing.Â
It groups the letters into families that are similar in formation. This style is aimed at Year 1 as there are no lead ups.
This PowerPoint above shows you the correct formation for all the letters. Open it as a slideshow, then click on the letter you want to practise for the animation and a rhyme to help you remember.
These are worksheets for Year 2 to practise your letter formation with lead ups, if you think this would be helpful to you.
If you would like to complete some spelling practise at home, please use this list to help you.
Find out which spellings your child already knows and then choose up to 5 words to practise each week with them.

Singular to Plural
Every child in KS1 has their own login for Times Tables Rockstars (aimed at Y2) which can be found in the front cover of their reading record. Just click on the picture link to access the websites. If you have lost your login, please email us.Â
When completing these online activities, please try to ensure your child is as independent as possible as this will give them the best opportunity to practise and improve their maths skills.
Here are some links to videos and songs which you might find useful when practising your 2s, 5s and 10 times-tables. Keep saying your times tables out loud to your grown ups, whenever you can!
