INTRO TO THE SPANISH LANGUAGE

This course is an introduction to the Spanish language and culture, with a focus on learning vocabulary and introductory conversational skills, not grammar.  Instruction includes fun learning activities, songs, games and other collaborative activities in which the target language is used, including oral presentations.   There will be some but little homework.  The goal is to cultivate an interest in the Spanish language and culture among students. Depending on their performance, the students may be recommended for the Accelerated or College Prep Spanish I class in 8th grade. A grade of a B or higher in Language Arts is recommended.
