Welcome to the Resilient Cities Summer School! From July 8-19, 2024, immerse yourself in a dynamic educational experience across Bratislava and Ljubljana. Our program, part of the Central Europe Summer School project, unites students, professionals, and anyone interested in resilient city concepts through challenge-based learning. We address urban challenges head-on through engaging sessions and partnerships with mobility companies.

What does the programe provide?

Engaging and meaningful challenges

Participants will be involved in a two-week challenge-based summer school, where engaging and meaningful challenges are designed to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in the context of urban mobility. Learning outcomes for each challenge will be carefully determined, and appropriate teaching methods will be selected to create a cohesive and impactful learning experience.


Tailored training Content

The program will feature training content tailored to equip students with essential skills and knowledge in problem analysis, ideation, business modeling, market research, and pitching. Continuous coaching and support will be provided throughout the learning journey, ensuring participants gain valuable insights into innovation and entrepreneurship within urban mobility.


Real-world learning experience

The Challenge-Based Learning Program culminates in a two-week experience where participants work collaboratively in teams, receive feedback from trainers and experts, and present their well-developed business ideas to a panel of judges. Additionally, guest lectures and mentoring opportunities from the cities of Bratislava and Ljubljana and local industry players enrich the participants' understanding with real-world insights and expertise.

Who we are?

STUBA - Pioneering Technical Education—The Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STUBA) traces its roots back to the 18th-century Mining Academy. SEB Ljubljana - A Hub of Excellence - The School of Economics and Business (SEB LU) at the University of Ljubljana is a beacon of academic and research excellence in business and economics. As the program's backbone, SEB Ljubljana oversees implementation, fosters innovation, and connects the Summer School with local businesses, offering real-world challenges for aspiring entrepreneurs. 


Kimitisik is a Dutch consultancy and training company in Education Management. Its experienced team of engineers and computer scientists aims to enhance STE(A)M education thrugh coaching on entrepreneurship and complementary skills. Kimitisik collaborates with international partners to support project implementation and offers CBL courses, hands-on learning, and events that blend proven methodologies with real-life experiences.

Anuška Cerovšek Beltram 

An entrepreneur, authentic leader, and mentor. Responsible for the organizational support at EIT Digital Ljubljana 


Aleš Pustovrh 

An assistant professor, researcher, and lecturer in the field of economics and entrepreneurship at STUBA


Balázs Horváth

Coach & Trainer, and Co-founder at Kimitisik, a data scientist with extensive experience in innovation and entrepreneurship


 Lucia Krupová

Project manager responsible for EIT Manufacturing, EIT Raw Materials and EIT Urban Mobility activities at STUBA


Ákos R. Wetters

Coach & Trainer and Co-founder at Kimitisik, Lecturer at Eindhoven University of Technology, and the Delft University of Technology. 


Miha Škerlavaj

PhD was a vice dean for research and still is a professor of management at the SEB and an adjunct professor at BI Norwegian Business School.
